Okay so I've planned a little 'Back To Bases' series to be appearing on my blog over the next couple of weeks/months talking about all things bases; Whether that be foundation, powder, or concealer, I'm going to be doing all my favourites, and telling you why I love them.
To kick this thing of, I'm starting with my all time favourite foundation, the Liz Earl Signature foundation. Now I've had this foundation for quite a while, since October last year, so I've given it a good wear, so much so to decide it's my all time fave! Why is it your all time fave? I hear you say. Well, let me tell you! This foundation is bloody perfect, so perfect it's as if it's Beyonce in foundation form. It's just the most lightweight, dewy, flawless foundation I've ever got my grubby little mits on.
So the foundation is about medium coverage, but with some good will power and effort can be boosted to being a high coverage foundation, but who needs high coverage when you've got concealer anyways, right? It sits on the skin so nicely, but has a really long lasting power, witch I find a lot of dewy/oily foundations lack in. It is a very true liquid foundation witch I really prefer, so that box has been ticked. Ask for the shades, I'm sure they're pretty basic, as are most, in fact I've never seen a range with so many shades that it has the right one for everyone, I mean it is 2014 now, they have talking mobiles, a shade for everyone isn't too much to ask. But I'm in the lightest shade, Porcelain, witch is a perfect match for my skin! I find it hard to find the right mix between pink and yellow tones, that match the fairness of my skin.
As for the finish, it is a very dewy, almost satin like finish. It sits on the skin very nicely without sinking into it cause it to become greasy or heavy, but not too light that it completely slips of. It actually reminds me ever so slightly of one of my old faves Nars Sheer Glow, witch i basically lived in throughout college. The longevity (P.S I didn't know long gevity was all one word!) of the foundation is pretty good, bog standard - gets me through the day without having to powder, even though I have a super oily T -Zone. Speaking of T Zones, a huge issue for me is having very oily bits, and some not so very oily bits; dry patches. I always find that a lot of foundations cling to dry patches like no other! But because this is slightly moisturising, it does not do that - Thank god!
The foundation retails at £21 from any Liz Earl counter, and at a few beauty stores online witch I will leave the link to below; But for the quality of the foundation, I think that's a pretty darn good price, do you think?
Love Meg xxx
