If you know me, you will know nothing aggravates me more than a heavy sloppy base, that you can feel on the skin all day; so quite a while back I was a crazy woman on a mission to find a base that was almost invisble on the skin, but still gave it the evenness and the coverage it needed! And that's when I stumbled across this bad boy! Yes I know, everyone and their mothers, and their mothers cats have massively raved about this foundation, but I thought it was high time I gave my version of events.
So starting with the packaging, very unlike most foundations I have as it's plastic! Praise the lord!!! This thing may not look vanity material, but it sure makes life a lot easier whilst trying to hoard this around! For one it's light, witch takes a huge weight of my shoulders, literally! Two it's super sleek and compact, and can pretty much fit in the smallest of smallest make up bags. And three it's very travel/bag friendly as it's not likely to smash in your bag, and go every where!
Now down to business; As the name suggests the foundation is pretty much water based, meaning you must shake the foundation bottle before use, witch is fine, unless you're mean and the slight manual labor really puts you to bed for the next 12 months. Inside the bottle the actual bulk of foundation sits at the bottom whilst the water sits on top, so mixing it together kind of activates it. This does mean your basically putting foundation on, that's been mixed with water; kind of unusual, but kind of works! As it is water, the foundation is super light and sits on the skin very nicely, making it feel like there's nothing there; Great for those who hate the feeling of a foundation on the skin.
The coverage of the foundation is very light, just a step above a tinted moisturiser. So if you're looking for a full coverage or something that can build, I would steer clear from this one, unless you're willing to go for the extra concealer.
All though this foundation is water based, and yes water is moisturising, sometimes plain water can really dry out the skin, so using a good, rich moisturiser underneath is for sure a must! The foundation, I find is more suited for oily skin, as it sits on top of rich moisture very well, and doesn't have that 'slid around' kind of thing going on, but can very much cling to dry patches, so if you're super dry, again this one most likely will not be for you. But this is a perfect summer foundation as it's light, doesn't slide of, or get greasy, and it's good for oily skin, witch in winter, you don't see a lot of!
I am a little disappointed in the shades. I think there are about 10 shades all together, and I have the lightest in 10 Beige, witch is my Chanel colour in everything, but I find this is slightly a bit too dark for me, so I really got to blend for my life. And to be quite frank, I really don't think 10 shades are enough for a foundation range, when will make up companies get this right?
So over all, I do love this foundation, yes it comes witch a bit of baggage depending, but it is a lovely light foundation perfect for the summer! Let me know what you think of the foundation, and if you would recommend it too!
Love Meg xxx
