The fourth part of back to bases has to be given to a 'not really sure how I feel about this product, but I'm going to review it anyways'. The reason as to why am not 100% in or out, is due to the fact a qualified makeup artist matched my skin tone wrong. Not mentioning any names.. House Of Fraser in the Metro Centre, but she did so now I don't have the correct shade of a thirty odd pounds foundation. Doesn't that just suck? So skipping the shade parts of the review, I'm going to go real deep on this one.
So as this is a stay in place foundation, they've pretty much made the longevity statement loud and heavy, and they didn't disappoint on that one. I can wear this all day for work, and it will still be all over my chops when I come home; witch is pretty darn incredible considering after 8 hours plus my travel to and from work, nothing ever lasts, not even my will to live. I would say the coverage is medium to high as it is a bit heavier than my usual go to foundations, and you can feel it on the skin ever so slightly, witch does bug the life out of me, but if you blend it correctly it shouldn't be too much of a hassle. I usually use a stippling brush as I find they work best for true liquid foundations.
One thing that really rattles my cage, almost as much as the shade of this; The packaging. Yes, I'm a shallow so and so who can't help but point out flaws of packaging. I really can't stand foundations in glass bottles. Yes it looks pretty, but it's super heavy, and not convenient in the slightest. And the bane of my life, it doesn't have a pump, so you do have to pour the foundation onto the back of your hand before usage, witch for me is a painful step, it wastes product and makes such a massive mess.
Would I recommend? Maybe if I didn't have so much eexperiencewith way better foundations I would, but I just don't love this as much as I love other bases. But if you're looking for a medium to high full face that will last you until the cows go home, this could be up your street. As long as you get correctly matched.
Love Meg
